W: Microplastics(微塑料) are everywhere in our environment. Measuring 50 to 500 micrometers(微米) in length, microplastics come from a variety of sources, including large plastics that break down(分解) into smaller pieces. Therefore, much remains unknown about the common existence of these materials within the human body(人体), as well as their impact on health(对健康的影响).(女士:微塑料在我们的环境中无处不在。

A research team(研究团队) led by Kieran Cox studied 26 papers on the amount of microplastics in common foods. Using previously reported data, the team evaluated the potential consumption(潜在摄入量) of microplastics and calculated(计算) annual intake(年摄入量) via food and drink at 34,000 to 52,000 particles(微粒).(由基兰·考克斯领导的研究团队研究了26篇关于常见食物中微塑料含量的论文。

The study found that people who drink only bottled water(瓶装水) absorb an additional 90,000 microplastic stick each year, compared to 4000 among those who only drink tap water(自来水). But the food and drink that the researchers analyzed represent 15% of Americans a caloric intake(热量摄入). The team couldn't account for(解释) food groups(食物类别) like fruits, vegetables and grains(谷物). Because there simply is not enough data on their microplastic content(含量).(研究发现,只喝瓶装水的人每年会多摄入9万个微塑料微粒,而只喝自来水的人每年仅摄入4000个。

For those who are worried about microplastic consumption, cutting down(减少) bottled water is a good start. But as for the heart of the problem(问题的核心), we have to stop producing and using(生产和使用) so much plastic.(对于担心微塑料摄入的人来说,减少瓶装水的饮用是一个好的开始。

此外,只需一个按钮就能切换不同模式(alternates between settings with one single button)。

GoPro Hero 13 Black

无论你是拍摄北极光(capturing the northern lights)还是录制采访(recording an interview),都需要一个旅行三脚架(travel tripod)来保持相机稳定(keep your camera steady)。 这款碳纤维材质(carbon fiber)的三脚架重量不足3磅(约1.36千克),折叠后能缩到一个水瓶大小(fold down to the size of a water bottle)。

GoPro Hero 13 Black运动相机可拍摄60帧的5K视频(capture 5K video at 60p)或120帧的4K视频——非常适合在放慢视频速度(slowing down footage)的同时不损失画质(without losing quality)。

21.What can be learned about the recommended items?(关于文中推荐的装备,我们能了解到什么?)

A. The GoPro Hero 13 Black Camera can be used underwater.(GoPro Hero 13 Black

B. The Peak Design Travel Tripod is affordable for interviewers.(巅峰设计旅行三脚架对采访者来说价格实惠。)

C. The Fujifilm X-T50 Camera is the lightest camera in the market.(富士X-T50相机是市场上最轻的相机。)

D. The Petzl Tikka Headlamp helps see distant objects with no button.(攀索Tikka头灯无需按钮就能看清远处物体。)

根据GoPro部分“waterproof down to 33 feet”(防水深度33英尺),可推断“能在水下使用”,A正确;B项“价格实惠”、C项“市场最轻”文中未提;D项“无需按钮”与原文“one single button”矛盾。

22.Which of the following is foldable?(下列哪项装备可折叠?)

A. Fujifilm X-T50 Camera.(富士X-T50相机。)

B. Petzl Tikka Headlamp.(攀索Tikka头灯。)

C. Peak Design Travel Tripod.(巅峰设计旅行三脚架。)

D. GoPro Hero 13 Black Camera.(GoPro Hero 13 Black

可折叠的);fold down(折叠)

根据三脚架部分“fold down to the size of a water bottle”(折叠后如水瓶大小),直接锁定C选项。

23.Where is this text possibly taken from?(这篇文章可能来自哪里?)

A. A travel handbook.(一本旅行手册。)

B. An equipment collection.(一个装备合集。)

C. A camera advertisement.(一则相机广告。)

D. A photography magazine.(一本摄影杂志。)

重点词汇:travel handbook(旅行手册);photography magazine(摄影杂志)

他说:“从那时起,我决定重新投身于拯救动物的事业(get back to saving animals),但要按我自己的方式来(on my own terms)。”

科学家们建议我们不必过于担忧(urge us not to worry too much),但要关注食物的种植方式(pay attention to how our food is grown)。 随着人口增长(as the population grows),我们需要保护和修复农田(protect and restore our farmland),以确保每个人都能获得健康的食物(ensure healthy food for everyone)。

28.Why does the author mention what our grandparents ate?(作者为什么提到我们祖父母吃的食物?)

如今,一款新的人工智能系统在此基础上更进一步(taken this a step further)——它能分析人们的听歌方式(analyzing how people listen to music),并识别出他们独特的“听歌风格”(unique "listening styles")。

音乐推荐算法(music recommendation algorithms)在推荐新歌和新歌手(suggesting new songs and artists)方面效果显著(highly effective)。但音乐与技术大学的音乐数据科学家(music data scientist)埃米莉·卡特博士指出,这些算法往往采用“一刀切”的模式(one-size-fits-all approach),无法捕捉用户个体听歌行为中的细微差异(record the slight differences of individual listening behavior)。

根据在国际音乐信息检索学会(ISMIR, International Society for Music Information Retrieval)上公布的一项研究,该人工智能能找出最佳匹配(find the best match)并识别出未知用户,准确率达86%(accuracy of 86%)。

个性化的音乐体验(personalized music experiences)可能会改变我们与音乐平台互动的方式(transform how we interact with music platforms)。”

研究人员意识到该系统对隐私存在影响(privacy impact)——它有可能通过用户的听歌习惯识别出用户身份(identify users based on their listening habits)。理论上(in theory),类似系统还能分析其他行为,例如人们收听的播客类型(types of podcasts)或听歌的时间规律(timing of their music consumption)。

59.marking

60.as

61.started

62.excellence

•解析:“seek(追求)”是及物动词,后接名词作宾语;“excellent(优秀的)”的名词形式是“excellence(卓越)”,故填“excellence”。

63.to solve

•解析:固定搭配“use sth. to do sth.”表示“用某物做某事”,此处“to do”表目的,故填“to solve”。

64.What

Hong Gang made us understand”中“understand”缺少宾语,“what”在主语从句中可作宾语,指代“洪刚先生让我们明白的内容”,故填“What”。

65.probably

Dear Sophia,

I’m glad to tell you about our school’s “Reading China” English reading activity held recently. It lasted for a whole week and attracted many students to participate.

During the activity, we read English books about Chinese history, culture and stories – some are about traditional festivals like the Spring Festival. We also had discussions to share our ideas and gave short speeches about our favorite books.

From it, I’ve improved my English reading skills and learned more interesting facts about Chinese culture. It was really meaningful. I hope you can join a similar activity if you get the chance.

Best wishes,

Li Hua

One day, I was sitting at the breakfast table with my five-year-old son, Mateo. I was still recovering from an operation. "Mom, let's play," Mateo looked at me and said. Trying hard to ignore the pain in my stomach, I shook my head and replied, "Not today, sweetie." These days, getting out of bed was a real struggle for me. I longed for strength and happiness, yet the future seemed so hopeless.

All of a sudden, Mateo jumped up from where he was sitting on the kitchen floor. He shouted, "Bird!" and then ran towards our courtyard. I looked in the direction he was looking and, sure enough, there was a white dove (鸽子) landing in a rubber tree. It stayed there for a little while and then flew away. It was quite odd because I'd never seen a white dove in our neighborhood before.

The next morning, I dragged myself into the kitchen. To my surprise, the dove was back, and this time it had a mate carrying some sticks. I pointed to the tree and said to Mateo, "Look, they're going to build a nest." Throughout the week, the doves flew in and out of the courtyard, building their nest on top of the rubber tree.

Mateo was extremely excited. Every morning, he would rush into the kitchen and stand by the sliding glass door. He would talk to the birds as they worked. His joy was influential. Although feeling sad, I couldn't help but look forward to the doves' visits.

However, things took a turn for the worse. The courtyard seemed like a safe place for a nest, but the rubber tree's small branches were not stable at all. One night, a strong wind blew, and the doves' nest was blown to the ground. I heard the small branches break.

I checked the damage. Nothing good ever lasts. I wouldn't blame the doves if they never came back. But they returned. They didn't even look at the pile of sticks that used to be their nest. They started building all over again. Unfortunately, the wind destroyed their work again. But day after day, they kept starting again as if nothing had occurred.

(1)续写词数应为150个左右;

I realized that I should take some measures. Having given me comfort in my darkest times, the doves deserved my help in return. I searched around the house carefully, found some pieces of wood and made a solid wooden nest for them. With a lot of effort and care, I managed to climb up a ladder, attached the nest to the rubber tree and covered it with some leaves. It was a challenging job, but the doves’ determination gave me the confidence and strength. After finishing the work, Mateo and I stood by the sliding glass door, waiting and watching with patience.

“Look! The birds have returned!” Mateo shouted. Hearing my son’s excited voice, clear as a bell, I looked up. The doves were circling near the nest happily and seemed to be satisfied with the new home. They started to bring small branches and soft feathers right away. Several weeks later, four babies came out of the eggs. The young birds developed day by day, and around a month later, they were fully grown and could fly. As watching them fly high and hearing them sing, I felt more positive and hopeful. The doves taught me to face difficulties bravely and keep moving forward.
